Born in Bangladesh in 1954 and educated in Bangladesh, Australia and Canada. Worked in Universities in Bangladesh, Canada and Australia. Currently, teaching Economics in Wollongong University. Has published extensively.

In the process of resettlement in Kolkata, the East Bengal (EB) Hindu ‘refugee-migrants’ initiated some strategic plans.These plans pertained to retention of family values, marriage practices and distinct cultural boundaries.
